Green Bangla Cricket Team (GBCT) was founded in February 2000 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Club is affiliated with Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA) under Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation (SACF). The Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation (SACF) is the official governing body of the sport of cricket in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia was promoted to associate membership in 2016 by the International Cricket Council​ (ICC) after being an affiliate member since 2003. Saudi Arabia also officially became the 39th full member (non-test playing) of the Asian Cricket Council in 2016. It ranks 28th in the global T20 world ranking.

In 2012, Green Bangla officially joined the Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA). RCA conducts 5/6 tournaments every year in four different levels. Green Bangla now play in the 1st Division League. Green Bangla feels proud to be associated with RCA and representing the Bangladeshi Community in Riyadh. In the last 12 years Green Bangla achieved 8 Champions Trophies & 5 Runner Up Trophies.

Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA) was formed for more than 43 years. There are 60+ registered teams and more than 850+ players registered with RCA. Riyadh Cricket Association was formed in the Year 1980 for Central region cricketing activities in Riyadh, since its formation it has been successful in bringing cricket as a game of sports among the Saudis and Expatriate working in the region which was only possible by the support of RCR Patron in chief HRH Dr. General Prince Abdulaziz Bin Nasser Bin Abdulaziz Al saud' RCA is associated with Saudi Cricket Center which has been affiliated with the international Cricket Council since 2003.

Founded in January 2020, the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation is headquartered in Riyadh with its operation’s office based in Jeddah. The federation’s first chairman is HRH Prince Saud bin Mishal. Saudi Arabia was promoted to associate membership in 2016 by the International Cricket Council (ICC) after being an affiliate member since 2003.
