Kirubasankar prevails in the battle of the MVPs to take his side Challengers Metro CC to a hard-fought win

The clash between Challengers Metro CC & TKC Mavs ended up being a battle between JCA's most awarded MVP, Kirubasankar and last year's MVP, Padmakar Surve. Kirubasankar who donned all the roles (bowling, batting, wicket-keeping. fielding) except that of the Umpire, eventually prevailed.

TKC Mavs won the toss and chose to bowl first and soon, the prolific Nimesh Shah, struck twice as Challengers Metro were restricted to 44 for 3 off the first 6 overs. Kirubasankar & Hariharasudhan then put on a 95 run stand in just 11 overs to bring the game back in Challengers Metro CC. Kiruba fell to Maneesh Tripathi (whose passion to play cricket after a back surgery needs to be commended) attempting one big hit too many after already having hit 5 sixes in his 68. Padmakar Surve & Swaroop Chavan bowled well at the death to eventually keep Challengers to just 149 in their 20 overs.

Satheesh Kumar & Karthigaideepan started very well for Challenger Metro CC restricting TKC to just 31 for 3 in power-play. Hariharasudhan then added to TKC's misery with two more wickets and at 40 for 5 after 9 overs, TKC looked dead & buried in their chase. Padmakar Surve then upped the ante to take his team to 105 for 5 after 16 overs. 45 runs were needed off the last 4 overs and it had been achieved before. But, Karthigaideepan struck in the 17th over trapping Paddy in front after having been hit for a 6 the previous ball and this wicket ensured that Challengers Metro CC could win with a 11 run margin.
