ABOUT

Kuwait Premier League had been formed in January 2013, with the idea of bringing clubs and individuals playing Tennis Ball Cricket together with the common interest to form an autonomous organization. Our mission is to collaboratively lead the growth of Cricket through competitive high standards, building better communities of tomorrow by infusing spirit of cricket.

Our main aim is to support the cricket loving expats in Kuwait, some of them being professionals in the game in their own native countries. Along with them, lot of promising youngsters have come up too. 
 
SEASON 1 
The first KPL Cricket Tournament ended in a thrilling final played at Kuwait City ground on 28th June, 2013 which saw the Mumbai Indians won by beating KICC to take home the ‘KPL Season 1 Trophy. 12 teams competed in the tournament, with each team playing 22 matches - twice against an opponent in home & away format at different grounds located in Kuwait City, Mishref, Khaitan, Jabriya, Abbasiya… among the top four of the league thereby playing in the semis to take a place in the Finals.

Six months of fantastic cricket was ended in a wonderful closing ceremony, where Mr. V S Najeeb (Kuwait University Player) presented the Winner’s Trophy to Mumbai Indians, Mr. Shabeer Basheer (Organizing Committee) handedover the Runners Up Trophy and Mr. Sameeullah K V (Organizing Committee) gave away the Group Champion’s Trophy to Mumbai Indians.
SEASON 2 
Second season was slightly different format than season 1 with 16 teams, each teams played once each other. And at the end Mumbai Indians entered to final in consecutive year, this time the Grand Final was against Winners International, who is the Group Champions of season 2.

KPL season 2 was ended in a wonderful closing ceremony, where Mr. Sajed Kalam (Kuwait National Team Player) was our chief guest on the day and he presented the Winner’s Trophy to Mumbai Indians, Mr. Shanavas Haitham (Chairman, Haitham Restaurent) handed over the Runners Up Trophy and Mr. Mohammed Shabeer (GM, Address Shoppee) gave away the Group Champion’s Trophy to Winners International.
 
SEASON 3
Kuwait Premier League Season 3 was entirely different format than other 2 seasons; there were a total of 28 teams played in 2 groups. Group A & B with 14 teams each. Top 4 teams from each group qualified to Quarter Finals and played Quarter Finals like 1st place in Group A vs 4th place in Group B and so on. After Quarter and Semi Finals, WRONG XI and DESERT BULLS qualified for GRAND FINAL, played Khaitan Cricket ground. The skipper Haisam guided Desert Bulls to an seven wicket victory over Wrong XI to win the KPL SEASON 3 TITLE. 

Around 600 players played throughout the season in 28 teams, and Mr. Rahil Kazi of FC XI selected as Man of the Series with 340 runs and 23 wickets. Best Batsman Mr. Safeer scored 510 runs and Best Bowler Asif Ibrahim took 29 wickets.

The presentation ceremony anchored by Shuaib Ayyoob and had many Guests like Ashraf Mohammed (GM, Sports Star Centre), Faisal Winners (Chairman, Winners Intl’ Restaurents), Asif (Manager, Pro Sports), Kamal (Manager, Mumbai Indians), Basheer (Captain, Salman Strikers) etc. Our Sponsor Faisal Winners presented the Winner’s Trophy to Desert Bulls and Mr. Ashraf Muhammed handed over the Runners Up Trophy to Wrong XI.
 
SEASON 4
During Season 4, Fourty Teams had been registered and over 800 players had been enrolled. The KPL brand had gained the popularity, we had the Title Sponsor for Season 4 along with Co-Sponsors. Main highlight of Season 4 was Man of the Series receiving Air Ticket (To & Fro) to his Home Country, which will be continued in forthcoming season along with other Individual Trophies and Cash Awards.
 
SEASON 5
Q7 KPL season 5 ended in thrilling final played in Abbasiya on May 15th which saw Oriental Cricketers winning against Winners Intl to take home the Q7KPL season 5 Champions Trophy . Winners Intl secured BEC Kuwait Runner Up trophy. 40 teams have competed in 4 different groups in 5th edition of Q7 KPL, were top four was qualified to the knock out stages. Earlier season 3 champions Desert Bulls won against Wrong XI to capture in the Grand Hyper 2nd Runner Up trophy. 

Wasim Mukadam of Oriental Cricketers was awarded man of the match for his all round performance. Umar Khan of TCCB was declared as Man of the Series 5 and was awarded with  Karbon Mobile Phone sponsored by Q7 Mobile Co.
