T30 2024- WEEK 4 ROUND UP

Saturday

  • Bowlers help Friends XI make it 4 wins in a row

Friends XI continued their excellent run and registered their 4 consecutive victory of the tournament. On the back of some solid bowling performances Friends XI restricted Raptors to meager 102. After snaring 2 important wickets and a catch, man of the match Hiren Rana (33 of 36) took Friends XI home with some sensible batting.

  • KC Avengers secure valuable 2 points

KC Avengers defended the lowest total in the tournament so far by restricting Chiefs CC to 112. From being 48 for 5, Avengers made a good recovery courtesy of some gutsy lower- middle order batting to put 143 on the board. In reply Chiefs CC batsmen found the going tough and were bundled for 112. Harsh Alluri (4/24) and Jayabharath Reddy (3/15) were the main wicket takers for Avengers

  • Usman’s hits 10 sixes as Brothers XI remain unbeaten

By his standards, this year so far had been relatively quiet for Usman Cheema. However on Saturday he showed signs of why he is the most destructive batsman in MWCL. After Chanukya (4/11) and Ejaz (3/23) had bowled Pak XI out for 137, Usman hit 10 towering sixes on his way to 88(55). On the back of this knock Brothers XI chased down the target in 18.3 overs. Earlier in the day Masood Shinwari (61 of 66) was the only Pak XI batsman to show resistance against some tight bowling.

Sunday

  • Mujtaba’s century in Green Hawks 100% win record

You dont see Mujtaba play every match, but when he does he is always a threat to the opposition bowlers. Batting 1st after winning the toss Green Hawks' Mujtaba’s 105 (53) balls was instrumental in setting Desi Spartans a tough target of 235. Spartans got off to a decent start, however they were short of the target when rain played spoil sport at the end of 12 overs.

  • KC Chargers win big on back of Harshul’s 92

At 50 for 4 things were not looking good for KC Chargers until Harshul Routhu decided to break loose. On a tricky pitch Harshul 92(53) and Navroz Ali 46(43) strung together 130 run partnership to take KC Chargers to 219 in stipulated 30 overs. For Lakes XI Bhaskar Addari (3/26) was the pick of the bowlers.

In reply Lakes XI could only manage 120 against some disciplined bowling by Arpit P (4/23), Vamsi V (2/29) & Harshul R (2/8).

  • Rain ruins the fun at Minor- KCCC vs Yuva Arcanes

Rain had the final say at Minor park on Sunday as Yuva Arcanes and KCCC Topeka went home with a point each. Before the final rain interruption KCCC were bowled out for 161. Syam S 65(31), Allah Bakshu Shaik (3/23) and Sreekanth Katpally (3/32) were the top performers in the game where only 1 innings was completed.
