Ribbon Cutting for Metro Area’s First Cricket Pitch June 4

LIBERTY, Mo. – To celebrate the metropolitan area’s first cricket pitch, the Liberty Parks & Recreation Department and the Midwest Cricket League hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony at Stocksdale Park, 901 LaFrenz Road, at 10 a.m. on June 4th 2017 with the chief guest being the respected Mayor Lyndell Brenton. Mayor Brenton has been serving the community since 2013 and has done great work to the City of Liberty!

Earlier this year, Liberty Parks & Recreation Department worked with the Midwest Cricket League to identify a location for a new cricket pitch, with Stocksdale Park as the selected location. The league funded the construction the pitch and will lease it back from the City for practices and matches between March 1 and Oct. 31 every year with the ground being dedicated to cricket.
