CSCA President promised excitement in 16-teams knockout tournament 
 

All is not gloom and doom for softball this year because of the tumultuous COVID-19 Pandemic, but softball spectators can catch a view of what the Canadian Softball Cricket Association (CSCA) is offering in a sixteen-team 10-10 knockout tournament.
 

President of the association Rishi Mohan stated the action is set to get cracking on August 23rd with four rounds. Each team plays two matches before the top eight progressing to the next stage.

Recently, the CSCA cancelled the entire tournament for 2020 owing to the pandemic. Even though parks were opened to stage three from the Ontario Municipalities, Mohan mentioned that the safety of the players is profoundly important but he is “excited” to run off a four-week competition with the first 16 registered and interested teams across the Greater Toronto Area.

“We [are] excited to get some cricket in; I know this is a difficult time but I can assure fans and players we will have a great tournament,” Mohan related. 
 

 He continued: “We do hope everyone is staying safe and doing well during this challenging time. We would like to inform you of our upcoming tournament, we're inviting all cricket leagues across Ontario.

 As promised, your executive team has been working diligently, behind the scenes, to facilitate some game play this season.  We are pleased to announce that without disappointment, your CSCA Board members have come through for you!  

With an overwhelming outpour of support, we have managed to coordinate a CSCA 10/10 Knockout tournament, and here’s what you can expect,” Mohan said.  
 

According to Mohan, trophies and cash prizes are at stake for the winning team and Most Valuable Player in the championship game which is billed for September 16, after the two semis the same day.
 

All matches will be played at Greenbriar ground in Brampton and an entrance fee is $300.
