Quarter-final teams confirmed in CSCA tournament; actions set for Sunday

Eight teams, still in the race, vying for supremacy in the Canadian Softball Cricket Association (CSCA) ten-ten tournament will be in actions on Sunday at the Greenbiar ground, Brampton, Toronto.
After the final preliminary round matches concluded last Sunday at the same venue in the 12-team specially-arranged tournament, the drawing was done Tuesday.
In the quarter-final fixtures at 10:00 am, Adventure will tackle Dynamic’s X1 Sports Club while at the same time, Fearless Titans and Renegades Sports Club will do battle.
At 12:00 hrs, two more matches are slated for the same ground. Softball Cricket Canada will collide with Pegasus while Berbice Viperz and Leguan Boys are facing each other.
According to the CSCA, the semi-finals and final will take place on September 13 also at Greenbriar.
Since the commencement of the competition, even in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic which has hampered outdoor activities throughout world badly, president of CSCA Rishi Mohan stated that he is pleased with the progress in the tournament so far and the competitive matches the softball players have churned out.
Mohan also expressed satisfaction with how things are going both and off the field and is very optimistic the next two Sundays shall be entertaining and exciting as well.
“The CSCA board [is[ pleased with how the 10/10 tournament progressing; all the teams are playing at a high level of competitiveness and still able to enjoy themselves because we saw high and low scoring games thus far,”
Mohan related that the players and officials have been very cooperative with the protocols at the facility owing to  the virus and is very thankful to the umpires who were enuring that everything is followed by the rules and regulations under the Ministry of Health within its jurisdiction .
Meanwhile, last Sunday, there were some outstanding performanaces in both facets of the game to finish off things in the preliminary segment.
Dynamic’s X1, Renegades, Fearless Titans and Softball Cricket Canada were victorious.  Leguan Boys and Adventure claimed walk-overs in their schedules. Dynamic’s X1 beat Berbice Vipers by a comprehensive ten-wicket margin while Renegades defeated Pegasus by five wickets. In the other two showdowns, Fearless Titans humbled Cambridge Jaguars by 36 runs and Softball Cricket Canada got the better of Scorpions by nine wickets.
Scores from last weekend games are as follows: Berbice Vipers 39-9 (8.3 overs). Trevin Yusuf 13; Ramraj Ganesh, Ashif Haniff, Gavin Garess and Raj Singh took two wickets each. Dynamic’s X1 40-0 in 6.1 overs: Shafraz Wahab 20 not out.
Pegasus 66-6 in 10-overs; Rishi Samuel 3-5 (2 overs). Renegades: 70-5 in 9.2 overs: Zaheer Allard 25.
Scorpions: 33-8 off 10-overs; Nick Sarwan 3-6 (2 overs). Softball Cricket Canada: 37-1 off 6 overs: Khemraj Harinarain 21 not out.
Fearless Titans: 64 all out in 8.2 overs; Shilendra Singh 3-3 (1.2 overs) and Rishi Harricharran 3- 13 (2 overs).

Cambridge Jaguars 28 all out off 10-overs; Raymond Isahack 3-0 (2 overs), Shazam Baksh 2-0 (1 over) and Rishi Mohan 3-12 (1.5 overs).
Legaun Boyz claimed the walkover from The Entertainers and Adventure got the same result from KR X1.
