TOURNAMENT FORMAT 1. Maximum 8 teams and single pool. 2. Classic Winter League (Nov 24th through end of Feb 2019) => Each team plays with other teams in the pool ONCE. So, 9 Round Robin Matches + Semi Final and a potential Final, 3. Top 4 teams based on Points/NRR will play one set of Semi Finals followed by Finals. Teams ranked 5 through 8 based on Points/NRR will play another set of Semi Finals followed by Finals. Teams that are not part of top 8 towards end of round robin phase will not move to the next round. MATCH RULES Below are some of the rules that are of frequently asked by teams. Apart from these, we will follow standard cricketing rules: 1. 15 Over Matches except finals. First 3 Overs are Bowling Powerplay where a maximum of 2 fielders can field outside the inner circle. 11th and 12th overs are Batting Powerplay where 3 fielders can field outside inner circle. 2. No restriction on the number of fielders on either side of the wicket. 3. Wide marking is measured based on one and half bat from middle of the stump on either side of the batting wicket. For a right/left handed batsman, anything outside their respective leg stump without a physical contact is a wide. On the line marking is a wide on the other side on the off side of the batsman. 4. Free hit for an overstepping and free hit rule will be applied. 5. After first warning to the whole team, mankading is allowed. 6. When a bowler pitches the ball outside the playing mat area, it is deemed as a dead ball. 7. No Leg Byes and LBW's 8. A batsman can retire at any time of the game with or without a cause and can return to batting at any point in time. 9. A bowler who steps out of the field for the number of overs need to wait for the same number of overs before he resumes his spell or to start a new spell. This rule does not apply to batsman. 10. An overthrow resulting from a ball hitting the edge of the pitch is still considered an overthrow. 11. If a player accidentally slips (in between running not a dive to make it) during running between the wickets and the fielding team gets him run out, it is not out. Please do not misuse this clause. This is from a moral standpoint. 12. If a team/player gets into verbal altercation, it is captains’ responsibility to control the team/players. Things happen but don't lose your cool. Take the time off and resume the match. 13. Sledging is allowed within limits of sportsmanship and until it does not get personal. Any abuse, be it explicit verbal or physical will disqualify the team without a warning. And law enforcement will be involved if things get physical. No kidding here. 14. Substitute Fielder: Can only field and run for a batsman. Since, we cannot really validate if a player is really injured or pretending to be injured, we will allow substitute to field and run for the player if he needs one during batting. However, if this is being misused, we will revisit this rule. 15. Given this is winter time, a match can be played with a minimum of 8 players should the teams fall short of players at any point in time. ********EVERY TEAM SHOULD SIGN A WAIVER FORM WHICH WILL BE E-MAILED OUT TO TEAM CAPTAIN**********
