Cambridge Cricket Club (CCC) were worthy champions of HDCL ED-Burn T20 championship for the season 2020. After narrowly losing to NCC in the 40 overs Super Elite Championship, Cambridge CC stormed into the T20 finals with outstanding and dominant display during preliminary rounds. Facing Oakville Cricket Club in the T20 final, Cambridge CC batted first. CCC Batters were in a very aggressive mood and set the tone of the match with 8 an over strike rate to post 40 off the first 5 overs. After the loss of openers, Mohsin Darsot (Man of the Match) punished Oakville bowlers with his masterful batting. Mohsin missed out on a ton when he finally fell for well made 85 runs off only 42 balls that included 6 fours and 7 sixes. He was well supported by Mohamed Zakaria with 31 and Maulik Arvindbhai with 29 runs. Cambridge posted a mammoth total of 195 for loss of 7 wickets in their alloted 20 overs. For Oakville CC Usman Bokhari was most economical bowler - conceding on 19 runs in 4 overs and chipping away with 1 wicket. All other bowlers went for plenty in their alloted quota of overs with Varinder Bhathal and Shumial Matin chipping away with 2 wickets each. Oakville CC featuring a strong batting lineup - started the run chase in a very aggressive manner from ball one and posted 55 runs in first 5 overs but in pursuit loss 3 key wickets. Every batter was in aggressive mood and there was no let off in aggression from either end. This aggression brought quick runs but also made OCC to lose batsmen at regular interval. In the end - Oakville CC got bowled out at the score of 134 in only 14.5 with 5.1 overs still to spare thus handing Cambridge CC the championship. For CCC, Mohsin Unia was the most economical and successful bowler with 3 wickets for 19 runs in 3.5 overs. Mohsin was well supported by Nadim Manjra with 2 wkts.
