| About: | Hopkinton Cricket Club (formerly Legacy Cricket Club) was formed by the cricket enthusiasts from Legacy Farms community in Hopkinton, MA. We have been working closely with the Hopkinton Parks and Recs department since 2016 and with their tremendous support and appreciation of our interest and commitment, have successfully laid 2 cricket pitches (astro-turf) in Fruit St in 2017 and 2020. Hopkinton Youth Soccer Association (HYSA) has been very generous in sharing their soccer grounds to develop Cricket in the town and without their support and co-operation, we would NOT have made it this far. Although a majority of the players are from within the community, initially, we have NOT restricted the other players (friends of the community residents) from Hopkinton and other neighboring towns from joining our club. In 2020, as we were growing big and had to support our needs, we started limiting enrollment to our club for Hopkinton Residents only. All players living outside of Hopkinton and were part of the club prior to 2020 are grandfathered into the club and enjoys club privileges. Legacy Premier League, Legacy Champions Trophy and Legacy Family Trophy are fun tournaments conducted for strong bonding, friendship and bringing together the people in this lovely neighborhood. Teams are formed based on the best availability of a majority of players on a single day and the players are evenly distributed based on their strengths across different teams to make the games more exciting. In 2020, we conducted the first edition of the Hopkinton Cricket League T20 tournament, where teams outside of the community, but from all over MA were invited to participate. A total of 12 teams participated and it was a great success story, especially during COVID-19 (strictly following CDC guidelines and show-cased that this non-contact sport is safe to play if all protocols are followed). In 2021, we have re-branded our club as HCC - Hopkinton Cricket Club and started the Hopkinton Cricket League - T20 in Spring with 16 Teams and T12 in Summer. Keeping aside a bare minimum of the tournament proceeds for cricket infrastructure development expenses, our club donates the proceeds for good causes. We donated $1000 to Hopkinton Police Department in FY-2021. We coach kids who have completed Grade 3 and above, during summer.
