United States - 01545
Established: 2024
Current Series: New England Gully Cricket - Summer 2024
About: League Rules
1. The tournament will be played in a 15-over format.
2. A bowler can bowl a maximum of 3 overs in an innings.
3. Both teams will play 11 players per team. These 11 players should be selected from the given team pool. Players in the semi-final and final must have played at least one league match.
Ensure that you add all the players to your team pool before the first league game. All further updates throughout the league stage should be made through organizers.
4. There will be NO over-reductions in the game. If a game cannot be completed due to weather-related issues, both captains can decide to play on the reserved day. If it rains on the reserved day, the points will be shared.
5. Wides, overstepping no-balls, and height no-balls follow standard ICC rules.
6. There will be NO free-hit for any kind of no-balls (height or overstepping).
7. It is the straight umpire’s responsibility to ask for the guard of the bowler at the beginning of a spell. A no-ball should NOT be called if the bowler forgets to state his bowling guard. Between overs, any change in guard without informing the umpire MUST be called a no-ball.
8. A dead ball results in no runs, even if it crosses the wide line. A dead ball is declared in the following cases: a. If the ball bounces a third time in front of the batsman, no matter where the batsman is standing. b. If the ball stops completely in front of the batsman. c. If the ball rolls along the ground in front of the batsman. d. If the ball breaks. e. If any obstructing event that may distract the batsman happens in and around the vicinity of the pitch, such as a fielder’s cap flying loose in the wind or trash flying on the field.
9. Byes and overthrows are allowed and follow standard ICC rules.
10. Since there are no LBWs, there are no leg byes. No runs can be scored if the ball hits the batsman’s body without touching the bat. A batsman cannot be declared run-out as a result. However, the batsman can be stumped out by the wicketkeeper even if the ball hits his body.
11. A tie game is broken by the use of a super over, following ICC rules.
12. Two (2) points will be allotted for a win, one (1) point for a game with no result, and zero (0) points for a lost game. If a team forfeits a match due to unavailability, 2 points go to the opponent. The top two teams from the group go to the semi-final.
13. Neutral umpires will be assigned for all games. By participating in the league, all teams are automatically committed to providing neutral umpires.
14. Not all the grounds are 360 degrees, so before the start of the game, both captains should discuss with the umpires the "one & two declared," ball in play, and boundary rules.
15. No power play and impact player rules. Substitutes and by-runners can be allowed by umpires with the opponent team’s consent.
