Pway Lions started in 2015 with bunch of highschool and college friends. In the first year of NJSBCL, Pway Lions played in the Divison 2 final and finished as runner ups.
In 2016, Pway Lions finished 3rd in their Divison 1 pool and lost in Pre-Quaters on a final delivery.
In 2017, Pway Lions finished #2 overall in Divison 1 at the end of league stage which also included an amazing 15 game winning streak however, lost a thriller game in Quarterfinals.
In 2018, Pway Lions finished #1 in points table out of 120 teams with a NetRunRate of 3.5, more than 2000 runs scored, all 16 victories in regular season was won by bonus points and finally the 2018 journey was completed by winning the NJSBCL Divison 1 Championship. (Finals M.O.M - Ankush Patel)
In 2019, Pway started with a 8 game winning streak which consisted 7 victories by bonus points. Pway Lions dominated their way into another final last year with a 13 game winning streak but finished just short of the ultimate goal. However, 2019 was another successful season for Pway Lions as they finished #1 out of 120 teams in total points, wins, NRR(2.4), total runs (2000+) & 17 dominant bonus point victories including one against the 2019 winners.
In 2021, After waiting the COVID year, Pway Lions came back stronger than ever and once again dominated their way to recapture their D-1 Championship by winning all playoff games by bonus points including Finals vs Table toppers. (Finals M.O.M- Shail Shah)
In 2022, The Defending Champions put on a historical stretch in the 2nd half of the tournament by winning all the remaining 8 games with bonus points and again finishing at top of the table with league high NRR of 3.83.The batting unit put on a show where the top 5 batsman combined for 2000 runs and 200 sixes which helped Pway finished with close to 3000 runs at 9 RPO. Unlike in the past, Pway Lions were staring at elimination in each of their playoff rounds however, Pway managed to grind their way out with clutch performances by each player under pressure and finally putting on an epic batting display in the D-1 finals to ultimately defend the D-1 2023 championship. In 2023, The 3 Time Champions entered the season with only 1 goal in mind #Mission3Peat. In the quest of this 3Peat, Pway Lions came out all guns blazing and had their best season in 8 years, which consisted of going 17-0 to start the season with the NRR of 5+ and eventually finished #1 in the D-1 points table for the 5th time in a row with all-time high NRR 4.37! (That is a win margin of 70 Runs per game in a 16-over game!!!) This majestic run continued in the playoffs and Pway Lions became the first and only team to 3Peat in NJSBCL history! (Finals M.O.M- Ronak Rana)
Below is the Squad of 4 Times Champions who just completed an Epic 3PEAT (2021, 2022, 2023) behind their maiden 2018 championship, finished as runner-ups in 2019 & 2016 and will be eagerly looking to play in their 6th consecutive D-1 Finals and aiming at a 4PEAT!
