Updated Rules for Fall 2017 season have been uploaded. Please use them for the Fall 2017 tournament. Division B finalists still have the Spring 2017 rules document available for their finals.
This is a summary of rules updates effective for the Fall 2017 season:
  1. If a team has changed it's name, it will be treated as a debutant in HCCL and it will start in Division B
  2. 4 games could be scheduled in July to make use of longer days
  3. Team disqualification from playoffs relaxed back to 2 missed umpirings or missed/delayed scorecards or a combination of the two
  4. If an umpire is late (past scheduled game time) for a game, or leaves the game before it finishes, the umpiring team will be penalized 1 point. Please refer the rules document for exact verbiage. On questionable weather days, just like the players, the umpires should also follow the field status line and be available on time, if the fields are OPEN
  5. Number of minium appearances by a player to be eligible for playoffs is now tiered. If a team plays (forfeits or washout to NOT count):
    1. 8+ league games: Min. 3 appearances
    2. 5-7 league games: Min. 2 appearances
    3. <5 league games: Min. 1 appearance
  6. HCCL will try to reschedule all washed out games for Fall 2017, pending availability of time and fields
  7. Rosters will positively lock after the first game by a team. Please no excuses or requests for roster changes, no matter how silly or genuine a reason might be
  8. Some of you might be aware of new MCC laws being published by MCC. MCC has stated those laws to go into effect since October 1, 2017. Hence none of the new laws will be applicable to HCCL's Fall 2017 season. They will be incorporated in HCCL rules from 2018.
Good luck to Ohm Mangalam and VTech Wizards for their Division B Spring finals. Let's have a great Fall 2017 tournament.
